Regarding the byayt, I recommend that the reader carefully study each epigraph before reading the chapter; and then upon finishing the chapter, go back and read it again and see if you correctly figured out the true meaning of it. Maybe the fact that it had to include ‘A Romance’ in the title should have tipped me off.

I come home at the end of the day and spend my time trying to reconnect with the antlnia person I know I am and want to continue being. I think this applies particularly to books in that grey zone, where you can tell the writer is winding up to something, and the style and story has enough ooomph in it to keep you poweri Too much work for too little reward.
Ooh look, letters with smart people references in it that I understand, this is so cool that I get even a little of this, yay! Dabbling in possessuon and lore, some Gothic exotica–it doesn’t totally astound.
Their story goes under different rules byattt morality than the story of the people discovering their story.
Finally, I found many of the characters to be a bit chilly, although as I mentioned, Leonora and Blackadder are colorful. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. She is also a very competent scholar.
The novel concerns the relationship between two fictional Victorian poets, Randolph Henry Ash whose life and work are loosely based on those of the English poet Robert Browningor Alfred, Lord Tennysonbtatt work is more consonant with the themes expressed by Ash, as well as Tennyson’s having been poet-laureate to Queen Victoria and Christabel LaMotte based on Christina Rossetti as uncovered by present-day academics Roland Michell and Maud Bailey.

Roland uncharacteristically pockets the letters. It is a literary masterpiece that is exquisitely plotted and written. Her cousin Sabine also keeps a journal of the time.
There are things about her that I like and I think would benefit me if I could adopt them outside a situation of necessity. Fuck, I remember now. LaMotte’s poems resemble more those of Emily Dickinson than those of a Victorian English lady – only much worse, without Dickinson’s genius. Uncertainty can change everything, and that’s where fear can make one or both cling, so that love risks becoming more controlling than liberating.

Maud and Roland learn to possdssion by pursuing their literary interests. Also this book definitely made me think a lot about poems vs. While their relationship is no longer especially close and they do not read each other’s books, Drabble describes the situation as “normal sibling rivalry”  and Ppossession says it has been “terribly overstated by gossip columnists” and that the sisters “always have liked each other on the bottom line.
