Brokaw relies on more action than thought, much like the James Bond series.
Jul 16, Jill rated it liked it. After carles long time, I dared to pick this author again, goading myself into it by thinking: But what he manages to do, is find chicks willing to sleep with him.
The book flags at the end, though, luciffer the point where they skip over how much of what the document that they finally found leads to, although I guess the author probably figured no one would want to read more searching, so I’ll forgive that. High action, quick and witty dialogue and a reasonably smart storyline.
Of course, the fact that the two main female characters do end up sleeping with him does nothing to alleviate his pompousness or improve the charels on the whole. And the idea of the rings came out of no where, and we had no background information on them. Thomas’s way with women will likely impress some and offend others. Quotes from The Lucifer Code.

Yes, it sounds an awful lot like Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon, but I assure you that this is but a comic book in comparison to the depth and breadth of Brown’s best. Which happens relatively quickly. But overall I definitely give this book 5 stars and look forward to reading more books written by Charles Brokaw. Discover what to read next. I tried to persevere I really did!
There are some fun moments, a kucifer sidekick in gun-smuggling gun for hire Cleena and a lot of fun chases through catacombs and underground chambers.
Not in a good way, it must be pointed out. If you like this style of story: He’s barely off the plane before he’s kidnapped by ruthless people who leave a string of dead bodies in their wake. Lourds soon becomes the bait in the most lethal manhunt — knowing he must confront the true face of evil if the world is to be saved I was debating with myself on giving this book a 2 or a 3 star My first foray into reading a work of Charles Brokaw.
I like that he is really smart but he is so full of himself bgokaw sleeps with every woman he comes in contact with, it becomes a little annoying at times. Views Read Edit View history.
I have mixed feelings on this book. Will probably go back and read The Atlantis Code. I only gave it 1 star because it wasn’t so bad that I wouldn’t presume someone, somewhere would think it a good read. He keeps at it for days. Hardcoverpages.
Okay i little harsh, i admit. The writings on the scroll might bring about the end of the world – or might stop it. The penitent man should be the author. Where Indy would whip the gun from the bad guy’s hand, Thomas just kind of sits there waiting to be shot — or saved by a much more impressive woman. An academic racing to solve an ancient mystery that effects the world today could easily be the description of The Da Vinci Code or The Lucifer Code.

Of The Temple Mount CodeKirkus gave the novel a mixed review, saying it was “derivative but entertaining escapist fare”. This book has better writing finesse, marginally, and for like halfway through the book, the story seemed to be building up to something of worth. Professor Thomas Lourds and I’m sure Professor is his first name and Tom his middle, given how he’s referred to throughout this book is the best at languages and knowing things.

Do you enjoy conspiracy theories that involve the end of the world that don’t make you roll your eyes? Love him or hate him, Dan Brown definitely set a precedent when he wrote his thrillers about religion and conspiracy. The Vice President of the United States is another story entirely.
What a brilliant series! Aided by the bad-girl love interest, police inspector Natashya Safarov, they travel to Moscow, Leipzig and Senegal. Sep 04, Sarah rated it it was ok. The novelty of Brokaw’s debut, which links the Catholic Church and Atlantis, isn’t enough to redeem this religious thriller.
Trivia About The Lucifer Code As a writer, you should not introduce a character that seems like a major play in the 1st quarter of the book, then introduce another character that does the same role but in a more brutal fashion, and then not mention him again until you randomly decide to kill him off towards the end. In fact, like Bond, Lourds is a womanizer and supremely confident in his abilities.
